Here is a short(ish) video review of the new Xtrek Pro from Silverlit. Released in the UK during September 2005 with very limited distribution. We believe that other EU countries are better served!. To our knowledge it is not yet available in the USA.

We managed to get a Subaru version from Silverlit - thanks guys!.

Here is a comparison picture showing an Hitari Subaru, on a ZipZap SE body, next to the XTrek Pro version. There is very little difference in size, with the ZipZap being slightly longer and the Xtrek wider. ZipZap claims to be 1/64th and Xtrek 1/60th scale.

We have put together a short vid showing the XT Pro in action

The dudes at bitpimps wanted to know more about the Xtrek Pro, so we put together this very rough video showing how the turning mechanism works, plus a couple of comparison shots to a bit sized clone. The Xtrek is already duel-celled (2 x 1.2v AAA cells), with loads of power. You might notice a slight stutter on the steering, this is a known “feature”!. Apparantly the guys over at bitracer.de have fixed the problem by changing some resistors on the PCB - but when you are driving, it doesn’t seem to be a problem anyway.
